How do I know what size to order?

Place a tape measure around your head where you would normally wear your hat, (across your forehead and just above your ears).

The tape needs to be firm, but not tight.

How do I care for my hat?

Millinery and headwear can be delicate and require some special attention for it to remain in peak condition.

Hats are best stored upside down on their crown in a hat box.

Use crumbled tissue paper to support the brim.

Excessive handling of the crown may lead to cracking of the straw.

Avoid wearing your hat in the rain or getting it wet. Hats are primarily made by wetting or steaming the straw, felt or leather material and shaping onto a wooden hat block before drying and stiffening. If your hat gets wet while you are wearing it, it may undo the blocking process and distort the shape of your hat.

Some straw hats may shrink if they become wet.

Avoid leaving headwear in hot cars as extreme heat may cause the headpiece to lose shape and fade.

Flat brims can be gently ironed to maintain shape.

Marks on your hat may be removed by using “baby wipes”.

Felt hats which are marked, are best brushed with a suede or clothes brush, and try to brush out the mark.

Can I return my hat?

Please choose carefully as refunds are NOT available if you change your mind.

A refund will only be considered if the goods are faulty (unless caused by you), has not been described correctly or different to the goods you ordered.

Contact Hat Ensemble within 3 days of receiving the goods to discuss a return.

Prices are in Australian dollars; do not include postage or GST. Hat Ensemble is not registered for GST.

Postage will be added during checkout. We reserve the right to change the displayed prices on the website without prior notice.
